U of MN Student News

The University of Minnesota - Twin Cities' Music Therapy Student Association plans to explore the field of music therapy this year byconducting research, participating in community outreach opportunities, hosting guest speakers, and attending national and regional conferences.

The MTSA will be partnering with Boynton Health Services on campus to study differences in responses to waiting room satisfaction surveys with music and no music conditions.

The group also plans to volunteer their time at People Serving People, a transitional housing organization in Minneapolis. Here, members of the MTSA will lead music activities with young residents.

Group members also look forward to attending the national conference in St. Louis and are excited to welcome our music therapy colleagues to the Twin Cities area this spring for the GLR conference.

Augsburg College News

Augsburg partners with Vision Strength Access to do an annual VSA Day for middle school students in the metro area.
MTAM will be hosting the local conference at Augsburg this fall, and our music therapy club plans to be a part of the student volunteer team helping with the conference.
This school year we are creating a mentoring program for music therapy students at Augsburg.   The juniors and seniors in music therapy will be familiar faces and "go-to" people for the underclassmen music therapy students.  This will allow for students to get a better understanding of the program and MT events as they begin their music therapy coursework.
